Shenzhou Decanter Centrifuge for Fish Process

Shenzhou decanters have been using for fish oil and fish meal processing more than 40 years ago. and has developed, manufactured and delivered more than 100 centrifuges for the fish oil industry while at the same time successfully and innovatively optimizing the processes. Whether using the Conventional process, Whole fish or Three-phase decanter process, Shenzhou decanter centrifuge will make sure that our customers always obtain the most efficient separation of the dry substance (protein), fat and water while keeping the contact time to a minimum. 

 

We have two different modes of horizontal decanter centrifuge, one is Two-phase solid-liquid separation, the other is Three-phase solid-liquid-liquid separation, which can be selected according to your material characteristics and separation requirements.

 

It is designed for 24 hours continuous and smooth operation throughout the day. It is mainly composed of driving system, decanter bowl, screw conveyor inside the bowl, cover box, skid and VFD control panel.
To ensure that the separation process can take place, the solid phase must be the specifically heaviest phase and the two liquid phases must have different densities.The main difference between the 2 phase decanter and 3 phase decanter is that the 3 phase decanter not only separate the solids but also separate two phase of the liquid.

What is fishmeal and fish oil production ?

Fishmeal is a powder obtained after cooking, pressing, drying and milling fresh raw fish and/ or fish trimmings. Fish oil is the liquid pressed from the cooked fish. From 100 kg of raw material a fishmeal and fish oil factory roughly produces 20 kilos of fishmeal and 5 kilos of fish oil. 

The production process seen in Figure 1 can be split into seven main processes.  

1) The raw material is boiled in its own juice by an indirect supply of steam.  

2) Pressing of the raw materials results in a solid fraction - the presscake - and a liquid fraction - the presswater.  

3) A decanter processes the liquid from which the solids are separated and returned to the presscake.  

4) The fish oil is removed from the liquid fraction by centrifuging.  

5) The remaining liquid called "stickwater" is evaporated. The resulting product is called solubles.  

6) In the dryer the presscake and the solubles are dried by means of indirect steam or hot air to a fishmeal with a moisture content of 5-10%.  

7) The fishmeal is added antioxidant, cooled and milled to form the product. After control and analysis the fishmeal is ready for packaging and delivery.

Fishmeal and fish oil are considered the most nutritious and most digestible ingredients for farmed fish feeds and feed for many land-farmed animals. All marine fish rely on marine omega-3 fatty acids to varying degrees and the composition of micronutrients in fishmeal, including amino acids, vitamins and minerals, support growth and optimal physiological function of animals and farmed fish. This makes fishmeal and fish oil indispensable feed ingredients. WORKING PRINCIPLE

Liquid-Solid Two-Phase Decanter Centrifuge

-The feed enters the bowl through a stationary inlet tube and is accelerated smoothly by an inlet distributor. The centrifugal force that results from the rotation then causes sedmentationof the solids on the wall of the bowl.

--Separation takes place in a horizontal cylindrical bowl equipped with a screw conveyor.

Liquid-Liquid-Solid Three-phases Decanter Centrifuge

--The conveyor rotates in the same(adverse) direction as the bowl, but slightly slower(faster), thus moving the solids towards the concial end of the bowl. The cake leaves the bowl through the solids discharge openings into casting.

--The separation process runs through the bowl entire cylindrical section, clarified liquid is separated by adjustable overflow plate.

Material

All contact with the material are made of high quality stainless steel, or duplex stainless steel. Bowl body all centrifugal casting, to ensure the durability and reliability of the equipment.

 

Bowl and screw

In order to ensure a high dryness cake, specially designed bowl and spirals are pressed against the dewatered cake at the concial end of the bowl in a high-pressure, two-way manner to minimize the moisture of the cake..

Drive system

The machine uses double motor double frequency conversion, and with multi-stage planetary gear drive. The difference in speed between the bowl and the screw can be automatically adjusted by the control system in real time based on the characteristics of

the raw material and the user's requirements. At the same time unique DC bus-powered design, to ensure a strong spiral torque, while greatly reducing power consumption. In addition to include full hydraulic drive, including a variety of drive options for 

the user to chosse. 

Lubrication system

In addition to the traditional manual grease lubrication, optional automatic grease lubrication(or thin oil lubrication) to maximize the main bowl bearing and screw bearing for real-time lubrication, significantly improve the bearing, and then even the whole machine durability and reliability.

Control system

The system adopts SIEMENS PLC + HMI by default, fully integrating the key points including speed, differential, current, torque, vibration and so on. 

 

Wear protection

A wide range of wear protection are available, including welded hard facing or spray coating, ceramic port, Zn carbide tiles, chilled hard mental portcastings, etc. all wear protection elements, except welded hard facings or spray coatings, are field replaceable.
