Sand and gravel washing wastewater treatment Process
The separation process of a Decanter Centrifuge in sand and gravel wastewater treatment involves the following steps:
1. Inlet Of Raw Wastewater:
Untreated wastewater from sand and gravel processing is introduced into the system.
2. Preliminary Screening:
Prior to entering the Decanter Centrifuge, the wastewater undergoes preliminary screening to remove larger particles and debris.
3. Centrifugation:
The pre-screened wastewater enters the Decanter Centrifuge, where it undergoes high-speed rotation.
Centrifugal force is generated, leading to the separation of solid particles, such as sand and gravel, from the liquid phase.
4. Formation Of Layers:
The centrifuge facilitates the formation of distinct layers within the rotating drum.
Heavier solid particles are forced towards the outer edges, forming a sediment layer, while the clarified liquid phase remains in the
center.
5. Solid-Liquid Separation:
The centrifuge's design enables efficient separation of solid and liquid components based on their densities.
Solid particles accumulate at the periphery, forming a cake, while the clarified liquid moves towards the center.
6. Solids Discharge:
The separated solid cake, primarily composed of sand and gravel, is periodically or continuously discharged from the centrifuge.
7. Effluent Discharge:
The clarified liquid, now free from a significant portion of suspended solids, is discharged as treated effluent.
This high-quality water can be reused in the processing plant or safely released into the environment.
8. Continuous Operation:
The Decanter Centrifuge operates continuously, ensuring a consistent and automated separation process for incoming wastewater.
9. Monitoring And Control:
Operators monitor the centrifuge's performance through a user-friendly interface, making adjustments as needed to optimize the separation efficiency.
10. Maintenance And Cleaning:
Regular maintenance and cleaning procedures are essential to ensure the continued effectiveness and longevity of the Decanter Centrifuge.
